Android Developer ( contract base)

At Covent IT, we are looking for a passionate and experienced Android Developer to join our engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for the development and maintenance of high-quality applications aimed at a range of Android devices. You will work closely with our cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features that deliver exceptional user experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• App Development: Design, build, and maintain advanced, high-performance applications for the Android platform using Kotlin and Java.

• Collaboration: Partner closely with UI/UX designers, product managers, and backend engineers to translate requirements into elegant, functional mobile solutions.

• API Integration: Connect Android applications to back-end services seamlessly using RESTful APIs and modern networking libraries.

• Code Quality & Testing: Write clean, maintainable code and conduct unit tests for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and overall reliability.

• Optimization: Identify and correct bottlenecks, fix bugs, and continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency.

What We Are Looking For

• Technical Expertise: Strong proficiency in Kotlin and Java, with a deep understanding of the Android SDK and ecosystem.

• Architecture & Patterns: Solid grasp of Android UI design principles, patterns (MVVM, Clean Architecture), and best practices.

• Data Management: Practical experience with offline storage, threading, performance tuning, and database solutions (e.g., Room).

• Tools & Version Control: Familiarity with modern Android development tools (Android Studio, Gradle) and Git version control.

• Communication: Upper-Intermediate to Advanced level of English for effective communication within the team.
