Senior AQA Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a talented Automation QA Engineer to join our team on a contract basis. In this role, you will focus on building, executing, and maintaining scalable automated test suites using modern web testing frameworks such as Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress. You will work closely with developers and stakeholders to establish robust quality gates and streamline automated testing across web applications and APIs.

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and optimize maintainable and scalable automation frameworks from scratch using Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium.
• Define project test automation strategy, framework selection, and execution standards tailored to project requirements.
• Set up parallel execution, containerization (Docker), and full CI/CD automation pipelines for test suites.
• Perform code reviews, enforce best practices (design patterns, test readability, maintainability), and mentor junior/middle team members.
• Conduct complex debugging, test flakiness analysis, and performance/load smoke checks.
• Act as a key technical consultant on quality assurance, communicating progress, risks, and strategies to technical leads and client stakeholders.

Requirements

• 5+ years of commercial experience in test automation with a primary focus on web applications.
• Deep technical expertise in Playwright, Cypress, and/or Selenium WebDriver.
• Proficiency in TypeScript / JavaScript, Python, or Java, with a deep understanding of asynchronous programming, design patterns, and framework architecture.
• Proven track record of designing automation architectures from scratch and migrating legacy suites to modern tools (e.g., Selenium to Playwright/Cypress).
• Advanced experience with CI/CD tools, Docker, cross-browser/cross-platform testing grid setups (e.g., BrowserStack, Sauce Labs, Selenoid).
• Strong experience in API automation, database testing (SQL/NoSQL), and microservices architecture.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities, high autonomy in contract/project-based environments, and decision-making skills.
