About the Role
As a Fullstack Team Leader at Riskified’s Merchant Platform group, you will lead a team of talented developers, working in a truly Agile environment where code is deployed several times a day and utilizing cutting-edge technologies.

Your team is in charge of building and maintaining a variety of applications designed to help our research and operational teams to expand Riskified’s ecosystem, and make an impact on our business on a daily basis. Combining smart people with big data is a great starting point, but once you throw in well-crafted tools with beautiful, insightful data visualizations, there’s no limit to where you can go, or in our case - the clear leaders of our industry.
We believe that our developers should take full ownership of their work: from the initial feature planning phase; choosing the right technologies, designing the code and architecture; coding; PRing; and all the way to actual deployment in CI/CD environment, as well as post-deployment monitoring.

We also believe it is the team leader’s responsibility to empower their employees and allow them to work independently while helping them to make the right choices and maintaining the highest levels of code quality, helping them to really grow as individuals and uniting them into a cohesive team that works as a unit.
We are looking for a true leader, someone who loves building applications: Whether it’s sitting with Product and Design to conceptualize the right product for our clients; Coming up with the best possible architecture and technologies for the specific requirements; managing the work in a truly agile environment; Maintaining the highest levels of production-awareness including testing, bug management and post-deployment analysis; And working in collaboration with internal stakeholders as well as other dev teams.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Recruit and lead talented software engineers as their direct manager.

  • Run the team’s Agile development process, work together with Product to set objectives and build a development plan to achieve our goals.

  • Find solutions and build products supporting our fraud management products, which will help our clients and internal departments expand Riskified’s ecosystem and make an impact on our business on a daily basis.

  • Own the vision and roadmap for your teams’ domain. 

  • Define KPIs for success and identify opportunities to move these KPIs positively, Drive engineering efforts to execute and fulfill these opportunities.

  • Monitor and analyze the performance, usage, and feedback of the platform, and identify opportunities for improvement and enhancement.

  • Participate in hands-on development.


Qualifications

  • 2+ years as Team Leader, working with Agile methodologies

  • 4+ years of proven hands-on experience developing applications, both on the server and client-side with web frameworks (Angular, React)

  • Proven track record in successfully leading and delivering enterprise solutions, from design to development to production

  • Ability to inspire, lead, and mentor high-performing senior engineers

  • Ability to deal with ambiguity in a fast-paced environment, while still focusing on goals.

  • Strong customer focus, excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

  • High standards for code quality, testing, and performance

  • Strong communication skills

  • Experience in building large-scale, distributed, highly available systems in Microservices architecture, cloud and SaaS environments

  • Strong technical and product vision and the ability to communicate this vision to multiple audiences.

  • B.Sc. in Computer Science or military equivalent certifications



Working conditions
  • Hybrid, 2-3x in the office in Lisbon ( outside Lisbon only 2 times)- Wednesday/Thursday mandatory
