As the UX Specialist for USBC’s API Portal (powered by Omnumi), you will own the endto-end user experience for developers, partners, and internal teams integrating with our financial APIs. Your work will directly impact adoption rates, developer satisfaction, and the portal’s ability to drive business growth. You’ll bridge the gap between complex technical capabilities and intuitive, frictionless design – ensuring the portal becomes the preferred destination for fintech innovation.

Key Responsibilities
1. User Research & Developer-Centric Design
• Conduct user interviews, surveys, and competitor analysis to identify pain points in existing API portals.
• Define developer personas (e.g., fintech engineers, third-party partners, internal ops teams).
• Map user journeys for critical flows (onboarding, authentication, debugging).
2. Portal Architecture & Navigation Design
• Design intuitive IA (Information Architecture) for easy discovery of APIs, docs,
and tools.
• Optimize search functionality and API filtering (by use case, region, regulatory
requirements).
• Structure multi-level documentation (quickstart guides vs. deep technical
specs).
3. Wireframing & Prototyping
• Create low/high-fidelity prototypes (Figma, Sketch) for:
• API key management & authentication flows (OAuth2, MTLS).
• Interactive API explorer (embedded Swagger UI with try-it functionality).
• Sandbox environment with simulated test data.
• Validate designs through usability testing with real developers.
4. UI Design & Omnumi Integration
• Collaborate with UI designers to ensure consistent branding (USBC + Omnumi
visual language).
• Design developer-friendly dashboards for usage analytics, billing, and alerts.
• Ensure responsive design (mobile/desktop) for on-the-go developers.
5. Accessibility & Compliance
• Guarantee WCAG 2.1 AA compliance (key for financial inclusivity).
• Align with Open Banking/PSD2 UX standards (e.g., clear consent workflows).
6. Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Partner with:
• Product Managers to prioritize UX improvements based on business
impact.
• Engineers to ensure designs are feasible within Omnumi’s framework.
• Technical Writers to make documentation visually scannable.
• Marketing to create developer onboarding campaigns.

Qualifications & Skills
Required:
• 3+ years in UX design for developer tools, SaaS, or API products (fintech
experience a plus).
• Portfolio showcasing complex workflows simplified through UX (e.g., API
portals, dashboards).
• Proficiency in Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD + prototyping tools (ProtoPie,
Framer).
• Experience with user research methods (surveys, usability testing, heatmaps).
• Understanding of REST APIs, OpenAPI/Swagger, and developer pain points.
Preferred (Bonus Skills):
• Familiarity with Omnumi’s platform capabilities (to accelerate design
integration).
• Knowledge of fintech regulations (Open Banking, GDPR) and their UX
implications.
• Basic frontend skills (HTML/CSS, React) to communicate eUectively with
engineers.

Performance Metrics
Your success will be measured by:
• Developer Engagement: ↑ Time-to-first-call (TTFC), ↓ onboarding drop-oU rates.
• Usability Scores: NPS or CSAT surveys from portal users.
• Support Reduction: Fewer tickets related to UX confusion.
• Business Impact: API adoption growth, partner integration speed.
