Global-e ReturnGO is a post-purchase solution that enables merchants to efficiently manage returns and exchanges. Serving thousands of merchants across the e-commerce ecosystem, ReturnGO includes two main frontend applications, one for merchants and one for shoppers, and integrates seamlessly with leading e-commerce platforms and systems.
Our technology
Both frontends are built with React. The shopper-facing frontend was completely rewritten nine months ago and remains in active development. The backend consists of a PHP Monolith, BFF in NestJS, and several NestJS microservices, all backed by RDS/MySQL and SQS queues. Scalability is ensured via ECS and monitored through metric alerts, automatically flagging system issues. Following our recent acquisition, we are focused on scaling the solution to serve twice as many merchants in a short period, and automating support and development processes with AI.
The Role
This role combines software engineering, production ownership, and AI-driven operational automation. The engineer will be responsible for production investigations, technical support ownership, monitoring analysis, and backend/frontend development, while continuously improving AI-assisted operational workflows.
The role reports directly to the VP R&D.

4) Interview with Team Leader with technical questions and some online coding challenge (60-90 minutes)

The Role

The engineer will be responsible for production investigations, technical support ownership, monitoring analysis, and backend/frontend development, while continuously improving AI-assisted operational workflows.
The role reports directly to the VP R&D.
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the technical production support domain, including triage, debugging, investigation, and resolution of complex production issues.
- Investigate monitoring alerts, infrastructure incidents, and Sentry errors.
- Build and train our AI support agent with a vision to automatically handle support tickets and operational investigations.
- Expand AI operational capabilities into DevOps and production investigation workflows.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement long-term reliability improvements.
- Lead weekly sync meetings with the support team to improve processes and operational efficiency.
- Gather requirements form the support team and develop support tools.
- Remarkable ownership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Hands-on experience with AI developer tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, MCPs, and AI-assisted workflows.
- 5+ years of experience in web development.
- Experience in backend technologies such as: Node.js, PHP,
- Experience in working with SQL databases
- Strong debugging, monitoring, and production investigation skills.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, databases, and production environments.
- Experience working with AWS infrastructure.
