Job Purpose
The Business Analyst will play a key role in the development of our USCB Unified API portal, ensuring that business objectives, regulatory requirements, and developer needs are translated into clear technical requirements. This role involves collaborating with product managers, engineers, compliance teams, and external partners to deliver a best-in-class API portal that drives adoption, monetization, and seamless integration for third-party developers.

Key Responsibilities
1. Requirements Analysis & Documentation
• Conduct stakeholder interviews (product, legal, engineering, marketing) to gather business needs.
• Define and document user stories, use cases, and acceptance criteria for API portal features.
• Maintain a prioritized backlog in collaboration with the Product Owner.
2. API Portal Feature Definition
• Define functional requirements for:
• Developer onboarding & authentication (OAuth2, API key management).
• API documentation standards (OpenAPI/Swagger, code samples).
• Sandbox/test environment for partner integration.
• Analytics & reporting (API usage, developer engagement).
• Monetization & billing (subscription tiers, rate limits).
3. Compliance & Security Alignment
• Ensure the API portal adheres to financial regulations (PSD2, Open Banking, GDPR).
• Work with security teams to define authentication, authorization, and audit
logging requirements.
4. Process & Workflow Optimization
• Map out API lifecycle processes (versioning, deprecation, developer support).
• Define SLAs for API uptime, support response times, and escalation paths.
5. Developer Experience (DX) & UX Collaboration
• Work with UX designers to ensure an intuitive, developer-friendly portal.
• Validate API documentation with external developers for clarity and usability.
6. Cross-Functional Coordination
• Act as a liaison between business, engineering, and QA teams to ensure
alignment.
• Support go-to-market (GTM) teams with developer outreach and training
materials.

Qualifications & Skills
Required:
• 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in fintech, SaaS, or API-driven products.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, OpenAPI/Swagger, and developer portals.
• Knowledge of financial regulations (PSD2, Open Banking, GDPR) is a plus.
• Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and tools (Jira,
Confluence).
• Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred (Bonus Skills):
• Familiarity with API gateways (Azure APIM, AWS API Gateway).
• Basic knowledge of authentication protocols (OAuth2, MTLS).
• Background in developer relations or technical writing.
